Mark Cutler's criticisms of sound design without purpose regarding the masterpiece that is Arca's "Mutant" are simply empty criticism coming from someone who cannot himself create these complex and abstract structures. It is a shame that an album so accomplished would go unappreciated by anyone, but it is also no surprise that, given the material, only those familiar with audio engineering procedures may truly love it. Which leads me to wonder what exactly is the type of music Mark Cutler is making that he would be unimpressed by an album like Mutant. How deft must be the hand of someone who can call the tracks on "Mutant" interchangeable and forgettable? I unfortunately got my answer in the form of yet another aimless Luc Ferrari regurgitation.
